Honda Activa 6G come with stylish look and more mileage in budget

Honda Activa 6G: No conversation about scooters in India can take place without mentioning the Honda Activa.

It’s gained a reputation over the years for being trustworthy, fuel-efficient and family-friendly.

The manufacturer of the bestselling Honda Activa 6G we all know and love has maintained it with their newer offerings, only better.

The sixth generation Activa is all about refinement, a little more power and a hint of better comfort.

Its not completely reinvented, however it does bring sensible upgrades and changes to make it more suitable for commuter requirements of today.

Design and Build: Basic, Sturdy, and Unchanged

Honda Activa 6G design is conventional keeping its current appeal. It retains the familiar shape, the shape Indian buyers have come to associate with trust and common sense.

The lines are clean and the panels are well made with an overall finish that radiates a sense of quality.

Honda has altered the front apron and headlamp housing slightly to provide a slightly modern look.

The LED headlamp(headlamp is available only in higher variants) provides a premium touch and better illumination.

The scooter comes in a variety of cool and calm colors such as Matte Axis Grey, Pearl Spartan Red and Dazzle Yellow Metallic to suit the preferences of different riders.

But it is well-made for something so simple. Those metal body panels ensure lasting resilience, which is something families and commercial users both weigh heavily.

Engine and Performance: Neat and Fast

The Activa 6G comes with a 109.51cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected BS6 engine that churns out about 7.79 PS of power and 8.84 Nm of torque.

These numbers aren’t earth shattering, but the brute factor is in the smooth delivery and linear throttle connection.

One benefit of that is that the transition to fuel injection (in 2002) facilitates a more precise throttle response as well as better cold starting.

Though acceleration is linear but scooter feels agile to maneuver through city traffic. Be it darting between tight lanes or gliding on a mildly open road, the Activa 6G is always composed.

Fuel economy is also up slightly. In real-life performance, you can expect somewhere around 50–55 km per litre of petrol, and it is one of the most fuel-efficient scooters in 110cc segment.

Comfort and Convenience

One of the most noticeable changes with the 6G is the new telescopic front suspension, a departure from the old trailing link arrangement on the 5G.

This upgrade has dramatically improved the ride quality, particularly over bad roads and over speed-breakers.

The wheelbase is 2498 mm long and overall ride comfort is good thanks to that plus 171 mm of ground clearance. The cushion is generously padded and provides sufficient space for the rider and pillion as well.

In addition, Honda now offer an idling start-stop to help with the fuel efficiency and emissions, in their quiet start-smart silent start system with an ACG starter, which ensures starting the scooter is silent and jerky-free.

Engine kill switch and external fuel lid save you a trip to the user’s manual every day.

Features and Technology

The Activa 6G isn’t the most feature-packed scooter, but there are provide thoughtful updates. It’s all fairly basic, but it’s easy enough to read.

That fuel injection, hush start, and an improved suspension setting would suggest that Honda is addressing the mechanicals and not simply adding bright new digital features.

It does miss out on a digital display, Bluetooth connectivity or USB charging ports, all of which have become prevalent even among its competition like the TVS Jupiter or the Hero Pleasure+ XTEC.

Honda Activa 6G: Conclusion

The Honda Activa 6G is still one of the strongest competitors in the 110cc scooter segment and with good reason.

It doesn’t work to impress with useless tricksand it works to make usable, comfortable, and valuable to its users IRL.

The Activa 6G may fall on the expensive side, but it’s a risk-free, sensible option if you’re a new scooter buyer or someone who is looking to upgrade from an old one, especially in India.
